AGM President’s report

Hello Thelo United Futbol Families,

I am happy to say that 2019 was a great year for Thelo United FC. The club continued to offer great soccer programs for both our youth and high school players in our community.

The board has worked very diligently to ensure a balance budget and a sustainable spending policy. Due to the frugal spending practices, we where able to step up and donate new full size goal for the Rex Putnam HS field that Thelo has used for a majority of its grass and turf practice usage. This was very much appreciated and helps maintain a very well functioning relationship that supports our community. As a club, our largest expense is fields for practices and games. The board has worked effectively this year to make sure all field time booked by Thelo is used by a Thelo team. This has helped tremendously in cost savings. This is also why filling the Field Coordinator position is critical for our club.

Looking forward to next year;
We will continue working with OYSA in developing the soccer programs that serves our community with integrity and transparency. We have updated our bylaws and policies to come into compliance for 501(c) clubs.

We are well on our way with our coaches being trained and licensed. By the start of next season we will have all of our current head coaches with a D license and assistant coaches with the Grass Roots Coaching License. Great job everyone achieving this very valuble step forward leading the way toward a higher standard of excellence.

We will continue to look at options for networking with other clubs to learn from them as to what is working and has not been as successful. We have met with local clubs in round table conversations to promote community unity and move soccer at all levels forward. We have and will continue to provide competitive friendlies that will challenge our players in a great environment. We will continue with our outreach to recreational clubs to help provide a competitive pathway.

A long term goal of the club is to have our own field(s). If someone has some land they would like to donate, Thelo we would be happy to discuss that with you.

At the Annual General Meeting the Board received nominations and approved the following Board positions;
President - John Dyer
Registrar - Dana Johnson
Assistant DOC - Kyle Rood
Equipment/Uniform Coordinator - Trisha Pickett
The following positions are still in need of filling:
Vice President
Field Coordinator

We are in need of an individual who has had experience soliciting and obtaining donations for club expenses and scholarships.

Finally, THANK YOU! It has been an honor being a part of this growing club and helping this club offer our highly competitive program to our local community.
As the out going president, I would like to recognize all of you who volunteer and/or help to support this club. You play a very vital roll in the future of our youth.
Again a big thank you from myself and all of the board for all you do to give our players this experience.

Sincerely,
Kyle Rood
